I just got me a pair of these bad boys:

Long story short: they are incredible. Playing in the game you can hear so much detail that just wasn't there before. Like hearing an enemy soldier cutting through a gate, and knowing without having to look that they are to your left rear. Or hearing a helicopter circle around you and knowing not to poke your head up above the boxes because it's directly to your front right.

You can hear the firefights in the game and tell where they are in relation to you (and even about how far away they might be), people walking up the stairs behind you, the sniper rifle being fired across the street to your left... it's really intense.

The price tag is pretty steep, but for anyone who has the free cash: get these. They just make the game more fun.

Oh, also: you can connect to two devices with it, so you get your PS3 chat and your Mumble chat effortlessly.

Wow, they look awesome, I watched the video on the site and read over it, would be sweet. I like that you can adjust the soft noises, like footsteps, so it isn't ruled out by explosions. Tsuujin shouldn't be getting shot in the back any time soon Razz lol If I had $250 I would buy it.

I horded all my free cash for the last six months to purchase these. $250 isn't cheap (and I nearly had a heart attack handing over my debit card to the cashier from anxiety over buying a toy that's so expensive) but it's really worth every penny.

I had to tear myself away from buying Rocksmith instead, though.

I see some through Amazon.com for $200 or so, and ebay has some used for $150 and less. Not sure if used is a good idea, but I have always had positive experiences buying used stuff on ebay, so maybe I will go that route, but not for a little while.

What's your setting/codec? Optical straight to your headset or from TV? Have you figured out a way to get the 7.1? Optical only Carries 5.1 from my research. Did you use factory presets? I can hear everything like you say....well not the people behind me. Directionals work for the most part, but I'm old and fired to much heavy ordinance. Its no fun killing bad guys with hearing protection so don't judge me.
